I've been gone for quite awhile. I must admit, I have been seriously considering taking my blog down for almost a year now. Jason keeps talking me back into keeping it up, but I'm just not so sure right now.
And, I'll just go ahead and warn you that this will be completely random!
~ Our family has reached a new level of busyness. Sure, we were busy when we were just trying to survive our first year with twins, and then we had another baby. We are a party of five and we are all about to start celebrating some birthdays. I can hardly believe that Jack is going to be 3 and that Abby Kate and Joshua are about to turn 6!!!! It seems impossible that I will be the mother of 6 year old twins!!! That makes me feel really old. And speaking of turning old, guess who is about to turn another year older??? Gone are the days of keeping up with toddlers, and now are the days of gymnastics, teeball, flag football, parties, and many more fun things. And can you believe KINDERGARTEN in the fall??? We finally feel free to travel again and start back on our baseball park checklist. We find ourselves playing in the yard and reading books and pretty soon we'll be hitting up the pool. It just seems like only yesterday that we were picking out items to put on a baby registry. Time has definitely flown by.
~ This past April, I was able to see Beth Moore again with some very dear friends. I am so very thankful for each of them. I saw Beth Moore last February with my dear friend Alisha. Alisha and I have been friends for years. I remember meeting her when our then boyfriends were interning together while we were at Lipscomb. We all had so much fun together and were in each others' weddings in 1999. Our first 3 years of marriage, Jason and I lived up in Kingsport and then we moved to Huntsville. We never dreamed of being able to work alongside Corey and Alisha in ministry, but we were able to. This year has been a little bittersweet for me because this past August, they moved away. I have so missed my friend. She has been like a sister to me and any chance that I get to go and visit with her, I jump at it. We were all so excited to stay with Alisha and we were each encouraged by the words shared by Beth Moore. If you ever get the chance to hear her speak, I would greatly encourage it! I am so blessed to be surrounded by such godly women and mothers that I call my very dearest friends.
~ My kids continue to make me laugh all the time. I am amazed at their little minds and the sweet words that they share with me or with each other. Now, there are definitely times when they get on each others nerves, but I just love our little family. Each child has such a unique personality and I feel so blessed to be their mother. It is my prayer that I may be the mother that they need me to be and that God would have me be.
~ I feel so blessed by my mom and dad. They were able to come down today for an early birthday celebration. My parents have always been so great to me. I love them so much! They are great grandparents to our children. I am so thankful for the love that they have given me, the sacrifices that they made for our family, the way that they love Jason and the love that they share with Abby Kate, Joshua and Jackson.
~ I'm still shopping the sales and saving some big bucks! I love it!
~ I'm loving Snapple with Lemon right now.
~ On American Idol, I don't know who I like more, Crystal or Lee. At first it was Crystal, but now I'm leaning more towards Lee.
~ Abby Kate knows more about my new phone than I do. Isn't that just a little sad?
~ Jason and I were able to go out on a date last night. We always said that we would never be that couple that had kids and then never went out. Well, we are that couple!
~ Our summer vacation plans had to change, but something else is in the works and we are all pretty excited about it.
Okay, I guess that is all for now. Hopefully the blogging bug will bite and I'll have more drive to post more on here.
