Baby Jack

Lane Changes

I am amazed at the horrible and careless drivers that I am sharing the road with. It seems that every time I get behind the wheel of the van, I have to watch out for all of the crazy drivers. The other night on the way to church, I was hitting "rush hour" traffic on Research Park. It always bottlenecks down to one lane that merges onto I-565. The guy that was driving in front of me was trying to "merge" his way into the right lane (as well as all of the other cars behind him). Unfortunately, the traffic in the right lane was pretty thick, so instead of driving slowly on ahead, he decided to come to a COMPLETE stop in the middle of the road! I had to slam on my brakes and pray that the other cars behind me would not hit my van. That same night, another car did the exact same thing while merging into another lane of traffic. Yesterday the man driving beside me swerved all the way onto the shoulder of the interstate because he was talking on his phone! I wish that these drivers were more aware of the other cars that they are sharing the road with.

Tomorrow Joshua and Abby Kate start preschool. They are so excited! They have been asking every day to go to school. I will post soon about their first day.

Gas Pains

Last night, Jackson had a little bit of gas and was having a hard time dealing with it. (As is always the case) I began thinking about what I had eaten and what could be the cause of his gas. I told Jason that I really couldn't think of anything unusual from the day's food. Jason then told me (in as serious a face as ever) that it must be the Rosie's that he had eaten for lunch!

God Is So Good!

I'm sure that many of you have been praying for Ethan Powell. At two months of age, he was diagnosed with Leukemia. He has been at St. Jude's since his diagnosis with his parents (Ben and Becky). Ethan is now 7 months old. He has been in the hospital for 160 days. They just found out that his Leukemia cells are completely gone! Praise God!!!

Click on his name above to visit his website. If you have time, click on the video's section and watch video #8.

Jackson at One Month

9 pounds, 7 1/2 ounces, 21 1/2 inches

I love to eat.

I love to sleep.

I love to be held.

I can smile.

I turn my head to familiar voices.

I am so strong. I can lift up my head.

I enjoy looking into Mommy and Daddy's eyes.

I am trying to make all kinds of new sounds.

I am starting to enjoy my baths more.

I love swaddling and cuddling up with Mommy and Daddy.

Jesus

On the way to a friend's birthday party Saturday night, Joshua started talking to Jason and me about Jesus.

"God made the cars. God made all the people. Jesus made Mommy and Daddy and Abby Kate and baby Jackson. Jesus went into the water. But, Jesus doesn't have a bathing suit!"

Happy Birthday Abby Kate!

Happy Birthday Joshua!

Joshua loved getting all of his presents! He now thinks that every person that he sees has a present for him. We ran into the same problem at Christmas.

Welcome to Time Out

Well, after thinking about it for more than a week, I'm finally ready to unveil my new blog title. Thanks to everybody who weighed in with their opinions. (Stacy, I nearly went with "The Sunny Side of Life". The only drawback was that I was constantly going around singing that song. It kinda drove me crazy. Sorry!)

With 3 year old twins, they're constantly going in time out. Oddly enough, sometimes they seem to enjoy going into time out. It makes me wish I could put myself in time out. So...I've decided to go with Time Out as the new name of my blog. This blog serves as my own little dose of time out from the world of raising three kids!

As you can tell, I've also made some slight changes to the color scheme, too. Be sure to let me know what you think!

And Let There Be Light

While putting Jackson down for a nap, Joshua and Abby Kate decided to go around the house and turn on all the lights. Yes, each and every light in the house! Oh, and the fans got turned on too.

I don't think that they make light switch covers. Do they?
