Let's Play A Little Picture Catch Up

I've had such a great birthday! Jason surprised me last weekend with a trip to Nashville to have dinner with my family. We ate at Olive Garden, which is my favorite!!!! My parents brought me a birthday cake from Becker's Bakery. My family has been eating their cakes since my Daddy was a baby!

MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot even begin to tell you how very excited I am to have my Digital SLR! I have been wanting one for such a long time! Now I will really have some fun with my photography!
I got a different lens from the one in the picture. Mine is quite a bit larger and I also got a couple of filters to use as well!

Abby Kate checking out the two white horses that came up to the fence in our back yard.

Joshua and his buddy Lawson!

Playing with my camera! I still have a LOT to learn!

Our little Cardinal!

Joshua loved playing ball. At one point during the game, he came running off the field saying that he did not want to play anymore. The coach, AKA - Dad, had put him in the outfield position and he was not too happy with that move! I, being the good mother that I am, grabbed him by the hand and pulled him back out to the field to play ball. He got over it pretty quickly!

Jackson's little nest in his bed

Check out what I can do now! Yep, I climbed up there all by myself (and then I didn't like it and I wanted down. But mom ran and got the camera instead.)!

I wanted to thank you all for my birthday wishes! I have had the best day today! I also loved reading what Jason had written for me on my blog and on his. Tonight I was treated to dinner at Rosie's and some ice cream at Marble Slab. God has truly blessed me with such great family and friends.

Happy Birthday Sunny! Enjoy the camera!

BTW, the picture of Abby Kate and the two white horses looks an awful lot like one white horse with two heads!

I know Taylor. I really loved the way that Abby Kate was looking up at the horses, but it does look like a two headed horse. :)

I'm glad it's been a good one, Sunny, and I am soooo....happy that you got the camera that you've been wanting. I'm kinda hoping that my parents will get us a good camera for my birthday or for Christmas. It's worth the money to have those priceless pictures of your kids. Cute pictures!

I am sooo jealous of that camera! Karyn Murphree has one like that (may be the same one) and every picture she takes with it is awesome! There is just something about the quality of the photos that is so much better than other cameras. I want one!!! O.k. now I am starting to sound like me kids. No, really, I do want one bad!

Great pictures! I too I'm jealous of your camera. I've been debating about which DSLR I want for some time. I'm hoping we'll get around to actually getting one soon!

Sunny,
Happy big 30!!!! I'm so glad that your day and celebration was so special! You deserve it! Being 30 isn't all that bad!!! Welcome to the club! :)
Love the new camera. The pictures are so clear...I've been shopping for a new one since ours has been on the blitz. Would you suggest this for a bit of an amature who has a passion for taking pictures of the people & things around her?
Love,
Jess

This is Karyn Murphree (Joshua's mom) and I came across your site when my sister-in-law JOKINGLY said "I'm going to Google your name and see if I can find anything bad about you on the internet." I have several websites, but the 1st thing to pop up was Brooke's comment on YOUR blog about your new camera. It was nice to stubble upon your site.
I DO have that camera. I've had it for almost 4 years and I LOVE it!! Besides my kids, it's my most prized possession (and there are TIMES, I may even like it MORE than the kids - tehehe). I THINK we are using the original lens although one reason we bought it was it was compatible with Jay's non-digital camera equipment (flashes, lens, etc. - he has a photography degree so he has a ton of equipment from that time in his life). I would LOVE to hear about the extra stuff you got (or are getting) for your Canon Rebel. I would love to know about the filters. I LOVE the picture you took of the two horses!!! Have fun ;-)

YIKES. I didn't "STUBBLE" across your website. I STUMBLED upon it. Sorry. I DO know the difference. "Stubble" is what I currently have on my legs ;-)

Karen, I am so glad that you found my blog. I love my camera, but I still have a lot to learn! I didn't know that your husband had photography experience. How cool is that?

I have a Canon Stabilizing 17-85 lens, a Tiffen 67 MM Wide Angle Haze Filer and a Tiffen 67 MM Circular Polarizer. The Wide Angle Haze Filter is on right now and I haven't even tried the Polarizer. I'm anxious to try it all out.
