Sleeping Habits

For the past few weeks, I have been having a hard time making it back to my bed after waking to feed Jackson. Jackson is still in our room (I have absolutely NO desire to move him out) and when he wakes to feed a couple of times in the middle of the night, I feed him in our recliner in our room. The only problem that I have is that I fall asleep in the middle of feeding him. Last night I slept for 3 hours in our recliner! When I finally woke up, my neck was killing me. I have tried my hardest to stay awake for the 10 minutes that it takes to feed Jackson, but I just can't seem to make it. Any of you moms have any suggestions on how I can make it back to my bed before falling asleep while feeding my baby?

Not much one can do about being an exhausted MOM! I can see Jackson's cutting teeth as a solution to your night time problem - but not very desirable.

I did the same thing when Avery was little. Everytime I woke up, it was time to feed her again!

The thing that made me stop falling asleep was sitting on the edge of the bed where I couldn't lean on anything. (Be careful not to fall over sideways!) :)

I fell asleep all the time while feeding Lawton! Can't help you with any tips!

No advice here, either. I am like a zombie in the middle of the night now. I'm just so tired from the whole day that I am out once I hit the pillow. A lot of times, Ben gets up with the kids if they happen to wake up because I am just so out of it. Good luck finding something that works. :)

I totally feel for you and I'm dreading this! I think I fell asleep every night feeding Grant. I finally just started nursing him laying down in the bed because I was afraid I was going to drop him from the recliner. Good Luck finding something that works.

Like others said...I either sit up in bed or just nurse while laying down in bed. I also nodded off a few weeks ago in a chair and woke as my head was falling over. I was scared of dropping Anna so I quit that. By the way, GOOD FOR YOU for successfully nursing Jackson for 5 months. Good job Sunny!
