Girly Fun
Joshua has had quite a few exciting trips. He went on a special trip with Jason to Atlanta to see the Cards play the Braves and just recently went with my parents to the Titans football game. Abby Kate and I have had fun going to the mall, but that is about it. I really want to do something quite special with her, but am beginning to wonder what. She could care less for sports, but loves babies, princesses, dress up, books and all things grown up. I was thinking about taking her to the Cabbage Patch Kids Babyland General Hospital, but I think that the drive would be a little too much. Any ideas?

Do you have one of those places in the mall that does make up and hair? It's not a big trip somewhere, but she might enjoy some Momma time.
You could go to get a manicure and/or pedicure. Do you have Build-a-Bear workshop? I've always thought that would be fun to do with a child. Do any tea rooms or historic sites do tea parties for girls? I know that here in Kingsport the Netherland Inn has a Teddy Bear tea party where little girls and their bears or dolls dress up and go to the tea party with their Mommies. I'm interested to see what suggestions you get.
Let's go to Atlanta and take the girls to American Girl. They have the bitty babies for younger girls. We could stay at a nice hotel maybe. One of Hope's fondest memories was going to the Coca Cola Factory there at age 2. She still talks about it.
I have heard of the Boyd's Bear shop in Gatlinburg. The Build a Bear experience is something girls love. Nothing like builing a bear and buying every accessory imaginable! We better get saving now!
Confession: I've been to the American Girl Store in both Chicago and NYC, and probably had more fun than most of the children there! I loved seeing all the new outfits they've come out with for my Molly doll in the past years! Those dolls hold a place in my heart! SO--if there's a nearby store, I recommend it.
Also, I remember mom setting aside one on one time where she piled the table with "ingredients" and let me "cook" ANYTHING that I wanted. We ended up with some inedible creations, but I got to be a grownup and create a dish on my own--and Mom baked it for me--regardless of how much flour I had piled on it!
