At first I didn't realize that this would turn out to be that big of a repair. Then I was reminded that this door has a key lock. I like having one key that works all of my locks.
There's the front door lock and the deadbolt lock.
There's the back door lock and the deadbolt lock.
And, then there's the door lock that I broke. That door also has a deadbolt lock.
This is going to cost more than I thought...

Craziness! So I guess it can't simply be duct taped back on, huh?
You can probably take one of the other locks off that the key works in and take it to Lowe's or wherever and have them "key" your new lock to match them...I think!
Yes, Lowes and Home Depot can make the lock match your others!
That really stinks. I hate it when stuff around the house breaks. I just want it to work the way it is supposed to all of the time. It would be great if they can match the lock for you. That would save a bunch of $$$. Good luck!
